COVID-19 Letter

Dear ABBA Families and Prospective Families,

With COVID-19 taking over our world, we had to close for several weeks to keep our staff and families safe. With guidance from DCFS and the CDC, we re-opened a month ago and we are doing well.

Here are the policies and procedures we have implemented (please note that things may change from DCFS as the state continues through stages of restoration):

  1. Our hours are 8am-5pm. Late fees will be accrued if your child is not picked up on time.
  2. Please plan for extra time at drop off. There will be no physical contact between adults. Temperatures will be checked on everyone who enters the building. The children’s shoes will need to be changed. You will need to sign in your child also.
  3. On your child’s first day back, you will need to sign a paper agreeing to comply with the new policies and permission for sunscreen. You will also need to update your child’s emergency contact list.
  4. Everyone 2 and older should be entering the center with a mask on. If you don’t have a mask for yourself or your child, we do have masks available.
  5. Ashley N and I will be at the front door to do the health screenings. Ashley will walk your child down to the classrooms. You will not be allowed to go with them.
  6. We will not be doing water play so you do not need to bring in those items. We will be outside when it is 90 degrees or cooler. Flip flops are not allowed for the children. Please have them wear closed toed shoes. Gym shoes with socks are recommended.
  7. Please bring in the following items:
    • An extra pair of shoes for your child that will stay at the center
    • Extra clothes for accidents that are weather appropriate
    • Pull ups if your child is not potty trained
    • Water bottle if you have one. We do not want the children to use the water fountains (many put their mouth on it). We will have paper cups and water available in the classrooms as well.
    • Sunscreen if you do not want to use the brand that we provide. There is a $5 fee for the summer if you choose ABBA’s sunscreen.
    • For children with food allergies: please bring in their milk or needed meals.

We pray all of you stay healthy and can return to the center soon or join us for the first time this school year!

God’s Blessings,

Amanda Cosby, Director
